Once Upon A Twisted Tale Tours in the North West

Four North West parks and gardens will be touched by magic this summer as Tangled Dance Company invites audiences to lose themselves as fairytales are awoken in an enchanting outdoor promenade dance performance. Audiences are invited to follow characters through gardens and forests as the captivating story untangles in the company’s original production of Once Upon A Twisted Tale. This is a high end art performance presented by contemporary dancers all trained at the prestigious Northern School of Contemporary Dance, one of the leading conservatoires in the UK, together with live classical musicians.

Tangled’s 2016 tour is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England www.artscouncil.org.uk

Performances at Heaton Park (Sun 24th July), Wythenshawe Park as part of the Wythenshawe Games (Sun 31st July) and Hoghton Tower (Sun 21st August).

The performances occur three times throughout the day at 12, 2pm and 4pm at all events except Whitworth Gallery; performances at 11:15am, 3pm & 4pm. Performances are approximately 45minutes in length. This is a free event at three venues; for performances at Hoghton Tower there is a charge of £6 adults/£4 children.

The performance is suitable for those of all ages with hidden depths to the fairytale theme. The experience includes an interactive section where children are able to participate in the story alongside the characters. Amy Eccleston, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Company says ‘we have been overwhelmed by the success and incredible feedback we have received following events over the past few years and feel so privileged and grateful to have received funding from Arts Council England to make it possible to present this year’s tour’. Audiences have previously described the work as ‘a magical, mesmerising experience not to be missed!’ Once Upon A Twisted Tale brings life and magic to outdoor spaces inviting the public to share in something unique and memorable.
