Type of ride = ‘Steady’. Lasting approx 2 hours

A ride with a difference, skirting the perimeter of Manchester Airport on eight miles of quiet lanes, cycle paths and off-road trails. From the gentle rolling cycleway, you’ll be able to watch the arrivals and departures at one of the UK’s busiest airports, while the airport’s viewing park and the tourist hotspot of Quarry Bank Mill provide the stopping points of interest. Due to the mixed nature of the route’s surfaces, road bikes with narrow tyres are not advised.

As part of the ‘This Girl Can’ Day at the Games, British Cycling are providing 2 free rides as part of their Breeze Programme.

Friday 27th July 2018 – 10am
Starting at Wythenshawe Park (outside the Hall)
12 Miles – women only (age 16+)

Type of ride = ‘Steady’, approx 3 hours

HSBC UK Breeze is British Cycling’s women only programme, run by our fantastic Breeze Champions, inspiring women to ride for fun and fitness.

This route is perfect for those wanting to try a little bit of everything, pushing a longer distance but also within an environment you’ll enjoy. Wythenshawe Park, the River Mersey, Fallowfield Loop, Sale Water Park, Chorlton Water Park… we have it all!

Type of ride = ‘Easygoing’, approx 1 hour 30 mins

This is a fabulous traffic-free route within Wythenshawe wooded park with a stretch along a cycle lane on the northern and southern edges of the park.

Come and join us at Wythenshawe Park for a free taster of all things cycling in Manchester!

Whether you want to ride for fun or fitness, this free monthly pop-up event gives you the chance to ride a traffic-free cycle circuit as many times as you want, at a pace that suits you.

The event is open to all ages and abilities and the circuit is easy to ride, with volunteers on hand throughout, ensuring peace of mind and safety for all cyclists.
